    Naturally occuring mycotoxin produced by many species of Aspergillus.Fumagillin is a complex biomolecule and used as an antimicrobial agent. It was isolated in 1949 from the microbial organism Aspergillus fumigatus.Metabolized by the liver to the reactive intermediate Alternariol . Exposure may produce acute necrosis, cirrhosis and carcinoma of the liver. Induces DNA damage.
