Molecular Structure
Detailed Description
BTP is an effective catalyst for esterification,
transesterification, condensation, and addition reactions. Effects are moderate reaction rates, high yield, easy work up, low toxicity, and low catalyst concentration.
Glass, metals, fillers, pigments, and plastic can be treated with BTP to give increased surface hardness, adhesion promotion, coloring effects, heat and light reflection, iridescence, and corrosion resistance, and scratch resistance.
BTP can be used as an additive in paints to crosslink .OH and .CCOOH functional polymers or binders, promote adhesion, or act as a binder itself.
BTP can act as inorganic binder alone or in combination with
other metal oxide for mineral filled systems providing high
temperature resistance.
Micro or nano scale TiO2 pigments can be formed from BTP.
It can also be used to create a polymeric TiO2 film on surfaces via pyrolytic or hydrolytic processes.Poly(titanium butoxide),
