Detailed Description
REACTION CATALYSTS
NPZ is used in Ziegler-Natta catalysis for olefin polymerization, and as a catalyst in esterification,
transesterification, condensation and addition reactions. Benefits include elimination of byproducts,
increased yield, easy work-up, low catalyst concentration and low toxicity.
COATINGS
Glass, metals, fillers, pigments and plastics can be treated with NPZ to increase surface hardness,
promote adhesion and enhance color and iridescence. It also can be used to improve heat and light
reflection, corrosion resistance, and scratch resistance.
OIL WELL FRACTURING FLUIDS
NPZ is an effective cross-linker that forms high-viscosity aqueous gels in dispersions of guar and
its derivatives used in oil and gas well fracturing applications.
PAINT ADDITIVE
NPZ can be used as an additive in paints to act as a binder or to crosslink -OH and -COOH
functional polymers or binders and promote adhesion.
ZRO2 PIGMENT AND FILMS
Micro- or nano-scale ZrO2 pigments can be formed with NPZ, which also can be used in pyrolytic
or hydrolytic processes to create polymeric ZrO2 surface films.
SOL-GEL PROCESSES FOR BINDERS AND COATINGS
Total or partial hydrolysis of NPZ can be used in sol-gel processes with other metal alkoxides to
create metal oxide systems for use in binders or coatings.
