Molecular Structure
Detailed Description
Quinine sulfate
Quinine sulfate, a quinoline derivative, binds to the DNA of Plasmodium and forms complexes that inhibit DNA replication and RNA transcription, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis in protozoa and is weaker than chloroquine. It is suitable for falciparum malaria caused by chloroquine and multi-drug resistant strains. It can also be used to treat vivax malaria. For patients with asthma, atrial fibrillation and other severe heart conditions, patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and menstrual periods should be used with caution. Pregnant woman disabled.
