Appearance: White powder or colorless crystalline powder. Was dissolved in ethanol, acetone, chloroform, insoluble in water. Odorless, tasteless, rapid decomposition in acid solution. Clotrimazole hydrochloride, m.p. 159 ℃.
Usage: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton gypsum samples, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus, algae bacteria, Candida albicans, were significantly inhibited. The main mechanism of action of clotrimazole highly selective fungal interfere with the activity of cytochrome P-450, thereby inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane.
