Stannous Fluoride is an inorganic salt of Stannous and HF acid. It is a colourless solid and is classified as Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient in toothpaste.
Stannous fluoride converts the calcium mineral apatite into fluorapatite, which makes tooth enamel more resistant to bacteria-generated acid attacks. Stannous Fluoride is a metallic salt and is classified as a dangerous goods and has special handling needs.
