Solubility: dissolving in hot grain alcohol , not dissolving in water, aether , glacial acetic acid and chloroform.
Properties: at room temperature for white solid powder, insoluble in water, soluble in alkali solution. Its solubility is small and the melting point is high, the purification is more difficult, it is the lower end of the petroleum products.
Application:
(1). high purity ethylene terephthalate and ethylene glycol were obtained by the condensation polymerization of polyethylene terephthalate.
(2). Purified Terephthalic Acid can also with 1,4-butanediol or 1,4-cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid reaction generated corresponding esters (such esters, mainly used in the production of polyester, and polyester is the main raw material for the production of polyester fiber (polyester), and polyester fiber is the main varieties of synthetic fiber), polyester and used for manufacturing special materials such as bulletproof vests, safety belt, tire cord, fishing net, rope, cloth and insulating materials.
(3). Purified Terephthalic Acid can also produce bottle grade PET, such as a variety of beverage packaging, especially the packaging of carbonated drinks, etc..
(4). there is also a small portion for the production of film grade polyester, such as should be used for packaging materials, film and tape, etc..
(5).Purified Terephthalic Acid downstream extension of the product is mainly polyester fiber and plasticizer (to promote the formation of plastic film).
