Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antihistamine used to help prevent allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes and rash. It also acts as a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), which gives it antidepressant effects, though this has not been well tested in humans. It can be combined with other medications to include decongestant and cough suppression with its anti-allergy effects.
