Bruell, who came to the United States after many years as a successful manufacturer of fragrances, cosmetics and toilet goods in Europe. From a modest beginning in a small loft building in the Greenwich Village area of New York City, Polarome has grown to be an internationally active company with operations and sales activities in several countries. Eight years after its founding, Dr. Bruell moved Polarome to a larger building near its original location. In 1962, after his passing, Eric Bruell took over the direction of Polarome. Under his able and memorable leadership, and with the help of Pierre, Dr. Bruell's younger son, the scope of Polarome's involvement in fragrance and flavor raw materials was further expanded.Today the Polarome International headquarters and principal warehouse are located in Jersey City, within view of the Statue of Liberty, capable of efficiently housing the vast inventories maintained by the company for the convenience of its customers. A new multi-purpose chemical and natural products manufacturing plant was constructed in Newark, New Jersey to further service customers. Polarome is proud of its heritage as a family owned and operated company. Pierre Bruell, Chairman and CEO, has recently appointed his son, Claude Bruell, as President of Polarome. Claude will be the third generation of Bruells to provide the leadership and guidance necessary for Polarome International to successfully face the challenges of a rapidly changing world marketplace.
