Parchem Trading's exhibition booth at the 2008 NYSCC Suppliers' Day showCompany ProfileFounded in 1988, Parchem Trading Ltd. has grown from a single agency in the ceramics field to a broad-based supplier of chemicals, pharmaceuticals and minerals to virtually every industry that requires them. We began by representing Dead Sea Periclase of Israel, the world?s leading producer of highest purity Magnesium Oxide compounds. Our history dates back even further, as our company President was one of the founders of DSP in 1971. Initially our key sales were to the Refractories industry, where their MgO was the component of bricks used in linings of BOF furnaces. Our active participation in the Refractories industry has led us to our worldwide operation which supplies industrial minerals, petrochemicals and oleochemicals. The inherent purity of DSP?s product enabled them to establish a specialties division with potential to supply high-end chemical grades for special applications. Together we developed a granular Magnesium Oxide for use by the Pharmaceutical / Nutrition industries which today is the key Mg component in most vitamin and nutrition tablets. The main thrust of Parchem today is the development of other products for the Pharmaceutical and Nutrition fields. We represent suppliers of HPMC, Calcium Carbonate, Glycerin and other key components to serve our customer base. We also have an international trade office in Europe, expanding our ability to source on a global basis. Our activities include agency arrangements, trading operations and joint ventures. We even serve as purchasing agents of specialty products for certain major corporations, where we have proven to be more cost effective than their own in-house operations. Parchem is located in downtown White Plains, New York, the hub of Westchester County, which lies just outside of New York City. We are a recognized member of NACD, the National Association of Chemical Distributors, meeting their guidelines and passing their audits. We are also an active member of DCAT, NRPA and IFT. In short, as Parchem continues to grow and diversify, it will remain focused on its original mission ? to serve as a sourcing specialist by developing relationships with specific producers, answering the needs of its customer base.
