He spent several years of his professional life in academia teaching and doing research in Poland at Warsaw Polytechnic University and in the United States at Iowa State University and at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In 1985 he joined Aldrich Chemical Company and worked there until 2001 as an R&D chemist and later as a purchasing specialist. Initially, the scope of services offered by Panslavia Chemicals included chemical consulting and light trading, primarily with Eastern European companies in Poland, Russia, the Ukraine, the Slovak and Czech Republic (hence ? the name Panslavia , from pan- all in Greek and Slavic nations). In 2003, a production facility was purchased and the center of gravity has been shifted toward manufacturing activities. The company is located in a walking distance from Aldrich Chemical Company, the main customer and supplier of starting materials. This vicinity allows to obtain the chemical reagents overnight and respond to all kind of urgent requests for custom syntheses. The company has also been working with Alfa Aesar, some major pharmaceutical companies, and with the Division of Experimental Therapeutics at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. The laboratory in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, can handle kilogram quantities up to 10-15 kg, however when a larger quantity is needed the company shares the procedures with a network of trusted chemical companies with larger capacities.
