Properties: Grayish-black, heavy powder. The cryst structure is orthorhombic, changing to cubic when heated above 179°. d420 7.234. mp 845°. Insol in water. Sol in nitric acid, in solns of alkali cyanides.
Melting point: mp 845°
Density: d420 7.234
Use: In ceramics.
