Properties: Stout prisms from alc, mp 114.5-115° (evac tube). Rapidly dec by heat. Very slightly acid to litmus. Very sol in water. Sol in alcohol. Practically insol in ether. Aq solns become discolored after a few days and the pH becomes alkaline.
