Calcium alginate, the Calcium salt of alginic acid, a natural polysaccharide extracted from seaweed, is composed by Mannuronic acid (M) and Guluronic acid (G). It’s shown white to light yellow powder, odorless, tasteless, insoluble in water and ether; slightly soluble in ethanol; slowly soluble in solutions of sodium polyphosphate, sodium carbonate, and substances that combine with calcium ions.

Main applications:

Food industry: calcium agent

Pharmaceutical: alginate dressing

Welding Electrode: Coating of the Welding Electrode;

Shelf life: 2 years
