Procaine HCl Usage: Procaine HCl is a local anesthetic, affected by temporarily block the conduction of nerve fibers. With better effect, low toxicity, and non-addictive for human, but with weak penetrating through the skin & mucous membranes, Procaine HCl is unsuitable for surface anesthesia, mainly used for infiltration, spine and conduction anesthesia.
Procaine HCl at normal ambient temperature, Procaine HCl is kind of white needle crystal or crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste and hemp, soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, insoluble in ether. Ester bond of procaine hydrochloride can be hydrolyzed, producing amino benzoic acid and two diethylamino ethanol, under some certain conditions, p-aminobenzoic acid can be decarboxylated to toxic aniline.

With aromatic amine structure, Procaine HCl can be easily oxidized and discolored, pH value, temperature, light, oxygen and metal ions can accelerate oxidation and discoloration. The water solution of Procaine HCl is more stable in pH3.0 ~ 5.0. Before Procaine HCl injection, generally some acid will be added to regulate the pH value to 3.3 ~ 5.5. Procaine HCl will be appropriate that strictly control the temperature and time of sterilization at 100 Deg C, circulation steam sterilization 30min, and pay attention to the shading, airtight preservation.
