Properties and uses
Colourless,odorless transparent oily liquid,flash point 170°C,b.p. 289°C,refractive index 1.4226(20°C),viscosity 3.5~12.2 c.p.(20°C) ..
Soluble in ethanol,and other common organic solvent. Soluble in the water slightly,the solubility in this article is 7%(25°C),but would gradually hydrolyze with the increase of the temperature.
Extensively used as a plasticizer for the nitryl cellulose,acetic cellulose,chlorination rubber,PVC;Can be used as the solvent of the coating,bond,printing ink,froth suppressor,static inhibitor;Also can be used as the extracting agent of the rare metal,but the boiling point is low,the volatilization loss is big,the application on plasticizer is limited.
