Properties: Crystals or white powder, dec about 195°. Odor of chlorine. Slightly sol in water, chloroform (differing from dichloramine-T which is very sol in chloroform). Sol in glacial acetic acid and in solns of alkali hydroxides and of alkali carbonates with the formation of a salt.
Use: Water disinfectant.
