Properties: Bitter crystals, dec ~245°. [a]D20 +22.0° (c = 4 in water). One gram dissolves in less than 5 ml water and in less than 2 ml alcohol. Slightly sol in acetone, ether; pH of a 1% aq soln is 5.0-6.0.
Optical Rotation: [a]D20 +22.0° (c = 4 in water)
