Properties: Very pale blue, monoclinic needles. Loses 2H2O on standing in air. Turquoise, anhydrous modification formed by dehydration at 100° in vacuo over phosphoric oxide. Sol in water.

Properties: Large, light-blue, monoclinic, holohedral prisms. Powder-blue modification formed by dehydration over CaCl2 under reduced press. Sol in water; very slightly sol in alc. Practically insol in most organic solvents.
