Safety Statements: Poison by intraperitoneal, parenteral, and intravenous routes. Moderately toxic by ingestion and subcutaneous routes. Used intravenously as a general anesthetic. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx and Na2O. See also BARBITURATES.
