Properties: Shiny, pearly leaflets, mp 109°. Solubility in water at 25°: 0.70% w/w; considerably more soluble in hot water. Soly in olive oil: 4.8% w/w; freely sol in alc, ether, ethyl acetate; moderately sol in chloroform, benzene.
