Properties: White, odorless, slightly hygroscopic crystals or granules; pungent, saline taste; slowly becomes yellowish in air; sublimes at high temp without melting. d25 2.429. Freely sol in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone; slightly sol in ether. Practically insol in ethyl acetate.
