Properties: Powder, decomp above 250° to the basic formate, Be4O(HCOO)6, which sublimes without melting at about 320°. Very slowly hydrolyzed by water. Practically insol in the usual organic solvents. Sol in hot pyridine, but on cooling a pyridine complex crystallizes from the soln.
